As the COVID-19 situation both in Finland and in most other countries remains uncertain and severe, the City of Turku Education Division and Turku Vocational Institute (TAI) will extend the halt on international exchanges and visits to and from TAI at least until the end of March 2021. In case you have travel plans with TAI for Spring 2021, please hold off all travel reservations.

TAI will not organize student exchanges in Spring 2021

All outgoing trips and Erasmus+ exchanges for TAI students are on hold until further notice. TAI will not organize international exchange activities for students during the 2021 spring semester.

Situation on incoming exchanges and visits reassessed in March 2021

Considering incoming exchanges and visits during Spring 2021, TAI will reassess the situation in March. Until the end of March 2021, TAI is not receiving any international exchange students or visitors. Even for visits currently planned for April–May 2021, TAI urges all partners to hold off on making any travel reservations to Turku as we can’t guarantee receiving any students or visitors during the Spring 2021 semester.

TAI will keep all parties concerned informed on the developments of our situation and decisions. TAI follows the Finnish healthcare professionals' and Ministry of Foreign Affairs' guidelines in all decisions related to international travel.

We are open for virtual collaboration ideas - TAI will be in distance teaching for the rest of the year 2020

If you are interested in planning small-scale international virtual collaboration projects with our students, please contact TAI Coordinator of International Affairs Maria Hokkanen. We wish to stay in contact with our partners and are looking forward to resume our international travel and collaboration when the pandemic has subsided.

Turku Vocational Institute will be in distance teaching for the rest of the year 2020.  We wish everyone a safe end of term and a holiday season as peaceful as possible.
