Turku is located on the South-Western coast of Finland. Our city is easy to reach by public transportation from all the major cities in Finland. Turku is about two hours away from both Helsinki and Tampere. You can arrive to Turku by air, sea, rails and roads.
Founded in 1229 along the river Aura, Turku is the oldest and sixth largest city in Finland. Once an important trading passage, the Aura river remains a central landmark and its riverfront a popular shared living room for Turku’s 190 000 habitants and the nearly 330 000 people living in the Turku urban area.

Turku Vocational Institute offers vocational study options for immigrants within the Turku region. We offer basic education for adults, preparatory programs, and vocational education and training with special attention to Finnish language skills. We can help you integrate into the Finnish society and find a path to the Finnish working life.
Turku Vocational Institute offers youth and adult learners training in various fields of vocational education on six campuses within the City of Turku. Through the apprenticeship office, the qualification options are almost limitless!
The Turku Vocational Institute also provides preparatory education for students with an immigrant background as well as education and training specially tailored to the requirements of actively competing athletes.

We offer Computer servicing and updates, done by our students. We also work with wireless networks and IT cabling.
Students at Ompelushoppi design and manufacture many kinds of clothing orders for customers, as well as offering small-scale stitching and repair services.
We offer minor electrical installation and re-installation services done by our students in the Turku region. Typical installation sites are outbuildings, garages, parking spaces, lighting, socket installation and electrical heating systems. We take jobs based on where we are in the curriculum, and as time allows.
Puuhapirtti is a fun and exciting place for children 1 year and up staffed by our Practical Nurse, Caregiver and Daycare trainees. Each 3-hour session consists of various activities, including storytelling, arts and crafts, theatre, exercise, and music. Children are not obliged to stay the full three hours and may bring along a snack. Inside shoes and, if necessary, a diaper are also recommended.

We make furniture done to your specifications, by our students. We are also able to plan and make staircases.
Whether you want a new look, or just a beard trim, hairdressing and barber services students are available on reservation. We provide services for men, women and children.
We are located at the Aninkainen campus, Aninkaistenkatu 7, entry through the Nahkurinkatu entrance.

Print Services at Turku Vocational Institute are able to offer service to customers in every step of the way in printing and publication services. Our students also design products based on clients’ ideas in addition to printing the finished result to specifications.
Note: all texts should be submitted electronically without formatting (e.g. in Word) along with photos unless these are done in the most common publishing programs (e.g. InDesign, Pagemaker, Freehand).
